The MENCAP IP Encapsulator is a Multi-Protocol Encapsulator (MPE) device that encapsulates IP data into MPE format for distribution over DVB-S, DVB-S2, DVB-C, DVB-T and ATSC networks. It is configurable in real-time, software upgradeable, and can be managed via Web, console, Telnet and SNMP.

Packaged in a desktop form factor (1RU form factor for the redundant unit), the unit is built on an embedded system platform capable of supporting up to 73 Mbps. The MENCAP IP Encapsulator can transport both Multicast and Unicast traffic and supports up to 10,000 simultaneous routes.

A redundancy bundle is available, providing a redundant Encapsulator solution in a single rack unit. Simply enable redundancy on each Encapsulator, and then all configuration changes made to the primary Encapsulator are automatically synchronized on the secondary unit. And, if set to auto failover, the redundancy switch will put the secondary unit online if the primary fails.
