Comtech EF Data Announces Executive Speaking Engagements at Satellite 2014

Tempe, Arizona, March 4, 2014 – Comtech EF Data Corporation announced today that Daniel Enns and Frederick Morris will be participating as conference session panelists at the SATELLITE 2014 next week. As recognized thought leaders, Enns and Morris will share their perspectives on key topics for the satellite industry.

Frederick Morris will be a panelist in two sessions. The first session, titled “Meeting Demand for Greater Bandwidth and Throughput,” is part of the Engineering Forum on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. In the session, innovators and experts will provide their insights into satellite transmission and bandwidth efficiency with a focus on High Throughput Satellites and DVB-S2-X technology. The second session, “Satellite Interference – Fighting Back and Turning the Tide,” is on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Morris will be joined by esteemed industry colleagues to discuss the industry efforts to combat interference, the operational impact of Carrier ID, and next steps by the industry.

Daniel Enns will be a panelist in the session, “Wireless Backhaul via Satellite: Making 3G/4G Affordable for Everyone,” on Wednesday, March 12 from 4:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. With the variety of space segment options including C-/Ku-/Ka-Band and regional versus spot beam to handle the transport of varying traffic types – voice, data and video – not all KHz/MHz and kbps/Mbps are alike. In the panel session moderated by Northern Sky Research and featuring mobile satellite backhaul industry experts, the technologies and satellite capacity that can facilitate the delivery of profitable, affordable and best-in-class 3G/4G services by Mobile Network Operators to rural and remote areas will be discussed.

The SATELLITE 2014 Conference and Exhibition is March 10 – 13, 2014 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.

About Frederick Morris
Frederick Morris is vice president of sales engineering for Comtech EF Data. In this role, he is responsible for the technical solutions for Comtech EF Data’s customers. Previously at Comtech he was General Manager of Comtech EF Data Vipersat Network Products Group. During his career, Morris has held various senior business development and technical marketing positions. Prior to joining Comtech EF Data, he was vice president of product management and development at Intelsat. Previous to Intelsat, he held the position of vice president of product management and sales support engineering at Verestar. His extensive experience also includes senior level positions in product management and business development at SES Americom, Viacast Networks, and Hughes Network Systems. Morris holds a BSEE degree from the University of Connecticut and an MS in Technology Management from the University of Maryland.

Daniel Enns is senior vice president marketing & business development for Comtech EF Data. Focusing on strategic activities, Enns initiates development and orchestrates partnerships. He is considered a pioneer in IP networking via satellite. His tenure includes various executive management positions. Prior to joining Comtech EF Data, Enns was General Manager/Founder of Crown Satellite LLC, guiding product and business development on the SpectraCast® products. Under his leadership, Crown Satellite was acquired by Adaptive Broadband (formerly California Microwave/EF Data). Enns also held the position of engineering director for World Radio Missionary Fellowship. He holds a BSEE from the University of Manitoba.
